Avow Hospice Nurses Recognized at Florida Nurses Association
Crystal Angel Nurses of Excellence Awards Event
 
Two Avow Hospice nurses were recognized at the Florida Nurses Association (District 29) Crystal Angel Awards held on May 6, 2009 at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club.  Avow Hospice homecare nurse Linda Donaldson, RN was one of four honorees presented with a Crystal Angel Award.  Avow Hospice Admission nurse Kerri Ervin, RN was recognized, along with five other local nurses, as a Nurse of Excellence.

This is the fourteenth annual event recognizing nurses of excellence in Collier County. Nurses considered for awards and/or recognition were nominated by their peers, supervisors, employers and patients.   Each nominee is also required to submit a written exemplar detailing an extraordinary career experience.

Avow® Hospice is a community-focused, not-for-profit hospice, serving its friends, families and neighbors living in Collier County, Florida since 1983. Avow provides specialized end-of-life care to those living with a life-threatening illness and offers support to those who are caring for them. Our interdisciplinary care team provides medical care, pain management and complementary therapies. Avow Hospice cares for patients wherever they live. In addition, Avow Hospice has the only hospice house in Collier County (for in-patient acute care and respite). Avow also offers grief and bereavement support to the families and friends of our patients as well as anyone in the community who has experienced a loss. Avow Hospice is a non-profit organization that relies on community donations to help fund patient care and programs for our community.
