George M. Walters, Jr. has served on the Board of Directors of Avow Hospice for 14 years. He has held several leadership positions, including Chairman in 2003-2004. He also served for several years on the Board of the Hospice Foundation of Naples, a fundraising organization for the agency. Mr. Walters is a retired Vice President of Northern Trust, N.A. In that position, he was responsible for the development of new business for the bank in the areas of financial planning, estate planning, trusts and investments. A native of the Philadelphia area, Mr. Walters is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He served in the United States Marine Corps.
He is a member of the Forum Club of Southwest Florida, the Estate Planning Council of Naples and is a former member of the Corporate Fiduciaries Association of Southwest Florida. For a number of years he served on the Florida Planned Giving Subcommittee of the American Cancer Society. Currently, he serves as President of the Fountainhead Homeowners Association at the Vineyards.
